Shoreline Community College counselors are offering support and counseling for faculty, staff and students following the April 12, 2014 reports of two deaths in the city of Shoreline.
According to media reports, Nicholas Herschberger and Laurel Hoffman were found dead in their Shoreline area home. A King County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said the deaths appeared to be a murder-suicide. Herschberger and Hoffman were well-known at the Parent-Child Center at the college, but there is no other known connection to the center or the college. The couple’s 2-year-old child, who attended the center, has been taken to be with relatives who live out of the area.
College employees also have an Employee Assistant Program available which offers referrals to counseling services.
