The 11th Annual NW SolarFest: Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair was a huge success, according to organizers.
The event opened Saturday, July 26, 2014 on the Shoreline Community College campus to clear blue skies, warm temperatures and smiling fairgoers. At noon, Cheryl Roberts, the incoming college president, welcomed the crowd and acknowledged her fellow education leader, Superintendent of Shoreline School District Rebecca Miner.
NW SolarFest is an annual event organized by the citizens group Shoreline Solar Project and supported by the college, the City of Shoreline, Seattle City Light and many others.
“It was great event thanks to the many volunteers and efforts of our supporters,” said Maryn Wynne, president of Shoreline Solar Project.
Roberts, who takes over as college president on Aug. 1 and was attending her first SolarFest, said she was impressed with the event and supports such collaboration with community groups.
