Sophomores Skyler Kelley and Jason Smarr were both named to the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Winter Term Academic Excellence Team. Skyler Kelley played in 23 games for the Phins and averaged 9 points per game. The sharpshooter shot 40% from the three-point line and 83% from the free throw line. Kelley has an overall GPA of 3.5 and plans to go on his Mormon mission following his Sophomore year before moving on to a four-year university.
Jason Smarr played in all 25 games for the Phins, leading the team with 17 points and 7 rebounds per game. Smarr also led the Phins with 45% from the three-point line. Smarr was named to the Northern Region First Team to go along with his academic honor. Smarr has an overall GPA of 3.65 and is being recruited by a number of four-year universities to play basketball on scholarship next year.
