Shoreline Community College is about to launch a refreshed design for www.shoreline.edu.
For current students, the greatest impact may come from the class schedule. It will be easier to use and provide new features. Course listings will have direct links to an instructor’s contact information and office location via Google maps.
The new look will be geared towards helping prospective students easily find the educational pathway that fits their aspirations. Additionally, the site will automatically transform itself to fit whatever device a visitor uses to access it.
The new homepage will feature three main sections highlighting 1.) educational pathways, 2.) student support services and 3.) opportunities for engagement between the college and local community. Each section can expand to reveal related navigation options, a relevant news story and buttons that allow communication with the college.
Variations of the new design were shown to prospective students from several area high schools. Their feedback played a key role in determining the final design. The company that provided the design also visited campus to hold “town hall” events and focus group meetings to further inform development.
“We’re just so excited to launch the new website,” said Mary Bruggeman, Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director of the SCC Foundation. “We’re eager to provide a tool that improves our service to students and makes it easier for the community to engage with the college.”
