Shoreline is proud to introduce its new name and logo to the community. Last year, the Shoreline Community College Board of Trustees approved a name change to Shoreline College. This fall, employees, students, and community members were invited to help shape the college’s new visual identity by voting on a new logo.
More than 1,250 votes were cast from across the community, with over half submitted by students. We thank everyone who took the time to share feedback and participate in this important moment for Shoreline.
The new logo builds on Shoreline’s existing brand by retaining key colors and a nod to the college’s original wave design, while introducing native flora that reflects a strong sense of place. Inspired by the college’s tree-filled campus along the shores of the Puget Sound, the design thoughtfully represents Shoreline’s identity and the natural environment that surrounds it.
The logo integrates Shoreline’s iconic waves with the strength of the Western Red Cedar, symbolizing movement, growth, and resilience. These elements honor the college’s Pacific Northwest setting, cultural connections, and the transformative journeys students take as they move forward in their education.
The Western Red Cedar holds deep cultural significance for Indigenous Peoples of the Coast Salish region and symbolizes life, resilience, and interconnectedness. It serves as a reminder of the community spirit at the heart of Shoreline’s mission, values, and commitment to equity and belonging.
Over the coming months, the new name and logo will begin appearing across campus signage, digital platforms, and college materials. This transition will happen gradually to ensure a thoughtful and seamless rollout.
We’re excited to share this next chapter with our community and look forward to welcoming you as the new Shoreline visual identity comes to life.
